Christopher Lim is a member of the Robotic Software Systems group at JPL. He has been working in the JPL DARTS Lab developing the Darts/Dshell, ROAMS, and EDL/Dsends dynamics simulation platforms for MSL, Phoenix Mars Lander, Mars 2020, Mars Sample Return, Europa Sampling Autonomy and Ocean Worlds projects.

Professional Experience

  • Robotics Software Engineer III, Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
    • Member of the DARTSLab team that developed the DSENDS Darts/Dshell package for the dynamics simulation of entry, descent and landing of Mars (SRL, MSL, Phoenix), Earth (COMPASS, SIAD) and Lunar (MoonRise) spacecraft.
    • Developed supporting tools such as a fast vector/matrix C++ library, HDF5 real-time data loggers, and a C++ version of Dshell/Darts.
    • Lead software support engineer for DSENDS EDL Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Telos Corporation. Developed portable satellite ground systems.
  • NDC Systems. Developed industrial control systems.
  • Johnson-Grace (division of America On-line). Developed web browser graphics interfaces.
  • Kinemetrics, Inc. Developed earthquake recorders and analysis software.
