Jeremie Papon received his B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2007, where he was a Trident Scholar his Senior year. He then received his M.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University while working in the STAR lab. After this he shifted continents and focus, moving to the Computational Neuroscience group at Georg-August University, Goettingen, where he received his PhD in Computer Science in 2014. His research focuses on semantic understanding of 3D point clouds for robotic applications.
Ph.D. in Computer Science, 2014, Georg-August-Universitaet, Goettingen
M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, 2009, Stanford University
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, 2007, United States Naval Academy
3D point-cloud (RGB-D, Stereo, or LIDAR) vision algorithms, real-time Bayesian tracking, Deep convolutional neural networks, and robotic vision system architectures. The major focus is on using these approaches for semantic understanding of scenes.
