Biography

Jake is a Robotics Mechanical Engineer in the Applied Robotic Systems Group at JPL. Jake received a Bachelor's degree in Electromechanical Systems Engineering Technology from Cal Poly Pomona in 2017. As an undergraduate, he interned year round in the Non-Destructive Evaluation and Advanced Actuators (NDEAA) group at JPL, working on piezoelectric actuation and energy harvesting systems. Jake has previously worked on the Mars 2020 Sample Caching System, delivering flight hardware for the Hermetic Seals and Sample Tubes. Prior to attending to college, Jake spent 6 years in the U.S. Navy on the submarine USS Jefferson City (SSN 759) as a Fire Control Technician and Navy Scuba Diver.
