Eduardo Almeida is a Member of Technical Staff at NASA JPL. He works on computer vision for maritime robotics and Mars 2020. For maritime robotics projects, he develops new capabilities in stereo vision-based navigation for autonomous surface vessels. For the Mars 2020 tasks, Eduardo supports various aspects of the image processing analysis, including rock detection, DEM generation, and mast camera pointing.

Research Interests

Computer vision, image-based modeling, 3-d reconstruction, meshing, camera pose estimation, structure from motion, change detection, GPU programming, and autonomous navigation.
