Dr. Ashkan Jasour is a Robotics Technologist at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), California Institute of Technology. His research focuses on risk-aware planning and control under uncertainty for robotic and autonomous systems, with an emphasis on non-gaussian nonlinear problems. Before joining JPL, Dr. Jasour was a research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he led a team of graduate students to develop risk-aware and robust planning and control algorithms for autonomous systems such as self-driving vehicles. In 2016, he received his PhD in Control Systems/Electrical Engineering and PhD minor in Mathematics from the Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Jasour was also a Postdoctoral Associate at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). His research interests include control and planning, robotics, optimization, and artificial intelligence.
