Anas Delane

Robotics Systems Engineer

Anas is a Robotics Systems Engineer in the Robot Ops and V&V group. He earned an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from SUNY Buffalo in 2011, and a B.S. from Hashemite University in 2009.

Between 2011 and 2013, Anas worked as an electrical engineer at Matrical Bioscience, where he designed automated sample-handling systems tailored for the life sciences industry. His role primarily consisted of integrating industrial robots and machine vision. Afterward, from 2013 to 2020, he served as a lecturer of mechanical engineering at Gonzaga University while also overseeing the university's mechanical engineering labs. His responsibilities included developing lab experiments and setups, mentoring students, and delivering courses on mechanical engineering. Between 2020 and 2022, he worked as an automation engineer for a manufacturing company in the semiconductor industry, Schunk Xycarb Technology. His role was comprised of the integration of robotic systems to automate manufacturing processes, and the support of these systems in overseas facilities.

Anas joined JPL in 2022 and is currently working on Curiosity Rover as a SA/SPaH downlink engineer, as well as serving as a robotic arm subject matter expert.
