The Robotic Systems Staff provide leadership in robotic systems engineering at the project, flight system, and payload levels of integration across the project life cycle for in-situ robotic planetary exploration missions. A robotic systems architecture approach is employed for product development, including mechatronics, kinematic and dynamic analysis, fight software (FSW), and operations. This approach leads to highly-operable autonomous systems for robotic space exploration, that maximize science return while also enabling new mission concepts. Group members have a proven record of flight product delivery, including hardware, software, and systems engineering for Mars surface missions (MER, PHX, MSL, InSight and M2020).
