Intent Recognition for On-Water Dynamic Maritime Domains

The naval domain is an environment in which detecting potentially threatening intentions is of particular interest. An approach for intent recognition in simulated domains has previously been developed at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), but this has been solely tested and validated in simulated scenarios. In addition, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) has also developed a system for intent recognition that has been tested and applied to real physical boats. In this project, we propose to integrate the UNR intent recognition system with the one developed at JPL and validate the new system in both simulation and on real physical boats.
