Distributed Motor Controller for Flight

Distributed Motor Controller for Flight
A prototype version of the Distributed Motor Controller for spaceflight applications.
The Distributed Motor Control design exists today as a first-pass ASIC integrated into a breadboard controller board and as an FGPA controller integrated into the same breadboard controller. The existing breadboard and ASIC / FGPA do not implement all the features required for a fully functional motor controller, and they do not implement an architecture that can be used directly by Mars Science Laboratory Project avionics. This task will work to complete the DMC gate array design to incorporate all the required features and capabilities, and it will develop prototype hardware breadboards to demonstrate arhcitectures that can be used by flight projects. At completion, this task will produce a controller gate array design and several prototype boards that will demonstrate the feasibility of the distributed motor controller architecture for future flight projects.
