The intent of the Distributed and Reconfigurable Electronics (DARE) task is to produce electronic module that can enable actively cooperative payloads for robotic assembly and the resultant smart structures. These packages will be "clever" (rather than "smart"), small, and inexpensive. Their role is to semi-reflexively collect and distribute resources such as information (from sensors), commands from higher-level electronics packages, data storage, and potentially power. This role, driven by the needs of robotic operations, will be carried out while observing the timing requirements of hard real time.
