Rian Simpson is a robotics systems engineer in 347R. As a member of Mars 2020 robotic operations, he is a rover planner trainee and robotic arm downlink chair. His current work also includes robotic arm trending and robotic arm testbed work. In the past Rian has done systems engineering work with the Utah Student Robotics team as a part of the NASA Lunabotics Competition and force characterization research at the Robotic Systems Lab at the University of Utah.
Outside of work, he enjoys travel, road tripping, hiking, camping, playing video and tabletop roleplaying games, and skiing.
