Justin joined JPL in 2018 as a robotic systems engineer in the Robot Operations group. His work focuses on developing software for safely operating the robotic arm of the Curiosity and Perseverance rovers. He also does downlink operations for Perseverance and helps run tests with the Mars 2020 test rover in the Mars Yard. He developed and maintains the Mars 2020 flight software collision model. Justin is also developing new testbed software for the Mars Sample Return sample transfer system.
