The Sealing & Puncture Assembly (SPA) creates a localized hermetic seal on the RSTA-GE (Returnable Sample Tube Assembly - Gas Extraction). SPA punctures the PSTA-GE from within that hermetic seal, and provides a controlled flow path for the Martian gas to the Sample Collection and Storage Device (SCSD).
