Biography

M. Omair Khan is a member of the Robot Operations group. Omair joined JPL in summer 2008 and has vast systems engineering experience spanning from project level to robotic manipulator susbsystems and over multiple mission types including Mars in-situ manipulation and Earth Science/Astrophysics remote sensing.

Key positions in his career include Mars2020 Sample Caching Subsystem V&V lead, InSight arm planner/grapple mechanism lead/Heat Probe (HP3) deployment lead, Grace Follow-On Flight System Systems Engineer (FSSE), FINESSE phase A proposal FSSE, and Radioisotope Thermal Generator Mission Application Studies Lead.
