Dr. Vandi Verma
Member of Technical Staff
(Full description>>)

Biography (more>>)
Vandi Verma is interested in the development of robotic and autonomy flight software for space exploration, and in driving and operating rovers on other planets.
She is working on the development of the Sample Caching System for the Mars 2020 rover, and is on the flight software team for the Europa mission. She worked on the development of the Curiosity rover, and has been a rover driver for Curiosity since landing.
Previously she worked on the Mars Exploration Rovers. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Ph.D. in Robotics in 2005. Her research resulted in computationally efficient particle filter based methods for non-parametric state estimation, with a focus on robot fault detection and classification.
