Jaakko Karras joined JPL in 2014 as an engineer in the Robotic Actuation and Sensing Group. He is currently the project manager for the PUFFER pop-up robots project, and is also working on small climbing robots and the JPL BioSleeve EMG forearm sensor. Jaakko received an M.S. in electrical engineering from U.C. Berkeley in 2013, having focused on developing tactile sensing for palm-sized legged robots. Prior to Berkeley, Jaakko attended Harvey Mudd College, graduating with a B.S. in engineering in 2010. Jaakko first began working with robots during high school with the Monta Vista Robotics Team.
