Biography

Hari Nayar is a principal technologist in the Mobility and Robotics Systems Section at JPL with over 30 years of experience in the development of robotics systems. He has worked on a variety of robotics research projects at JPL including leading pioneering work in the development of a telerobotic system to assist surgeons perform microsurgery and developing algorithms and control software for robotic systems. He was a Visiting Lecturer in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at UCLA in 2000 and 2001. In 2002, he started up a company to develop robotics educational software. He returned to JPL in 2007 to continue his role as a task manager and technical contributor on robotics research tasks.
