GROUP: Robotics Modeling and Simulation (347D)

The Robotics Modeling and Simulation Group performs modeling, analysis, simulation, visualization, and performance evaluation of robot systems in relevant environments. The group develops model-based control systems and performs mission planning analysis, optimization, and operations using:

  • High-fidelity physics-based multi-body dynamics simulations with large high-resolution terrain models for surface interactions.
  • Ground control sequencing, simulation, visualization, and human-robot interaction software.
  • New simulation technologies including massively parallel ab-initio granular media models for robot-terrain interaction and Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) based algorithms.
